Meet Attorney Lauren Pevehouse

Estate Planning & Family Law Attorney Serving St. Paul and the Twin Cities

Lauren Pevehouse is the founder of Lauren Pevehouse Law and a Minnesota attorney focused on estate planning and family law. She helps individuals and families across St. Paul, Minneapolis, and the greater Twin Cities navigate some of life's most important and personal legal decisions; from protecting their families with wills and trusts to working through divorce and custody with clarity and confidence.

Clients come to Lauren at pivotal, often stressful moments. What keeps them referring to their friends and family is the way she handles those moments: with honesty, genuine empathy, and a commitment to making sure they always understand what's happening and what it will cost.

Her Approach

Lauren built her practice around a straightforward idea: legal guidance should feel clear, personal, and free of unpleasant surprises.

She listens carefully before she advises. She explains complex legal issues in plain language, not jargon. And she believes clients deserve transparent, upfront pricing so they can make decisions with confidence rather than anxiety about the bill.

That personal attention is deliberate. When you hire Lauren, you work directly with Lauren and not a rotating team of associates. She keeps her practice focused so that every client receives thoughtful, responsive guidance and a legal strategy built around their specific goals.

At the same time, compassion doesn't mean passivity. Lauren believes it is her responsibility to secure what her clients are entitled to under Minnesota law and to advocate firmly, strategically, and ethically on their behalf.

Background & Experience

Lauren's legal journey began in California before she found her true calling in Minnesota, drawn to its communities and legal landscape.

Before founding her own firm, she spent years developing a deep understanding of Minnesota's court system as a law clerk where she gained hands-on experience with the practical realities of litigation and client advocacy.

Her legal education also took her abroad: Lauren participated in international study programs in Hangzhou, China, and Nice, France, broadening her perspective on the law.

Today, she brings that combination of rigorous training and personal warmth to every estate planning and family law matter she handles.

Practice Focus

  • Estate Planning — wills, revocable living trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives

  • Family Law — divorce (contested and uncontested), child custody, parenting time, child support, spousal maintenance, property division, and parenting plans

Beyond the Practice

Lauren is deeply committed to her Minnesota community and to developing the next generation of advocates.

She coaches the Chisago Lakes High School Mock Trial Team, mentoring students in legal reasoning, courtroom skills, and confidence in public speaking. She also volunteers regularly at the Washington County Law Library, helping individuals who need guidance navigating legal resources and court processes. Lauren has teamed up with Chisago Lakes Community Education to offer a course on effective estate planning.

Lauren enjoys spending her time outside walking her dogs, and riding and showing horses.

"Estate planning and family law touch the most personal parts of people's lives: their children, their futures, their security. I started this firm because I believe those moments deserve an attorney who will actually listen, tell you the truth, and be straight with you about cost. My goal is for every client to leave feeling protected and understood."
